Recognized for his strong background in agricultural and business lending and commitment to customer satisfaction, Cory Abels has been promoted to Waterville bank president for Frandsen Bank & Trust, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
In his new role, Cory will oversee day-to-day bank operations in Waterville, collaborating closely with Shane Van Engen. Cory has been an essential member of the Waterville team since 2023. He specializes in agriculture, business, manufacturing, and commercial real estate lending, as well as lending through Farmer Mac.
“Cory understands the local market and what our customers need,” said Shane Van Engen, Mankato market president. “He will do an excellent job leading our team in Waterville.”
Shane was promoted to market president for Frandsen Bank’s Mankato and North Mankato branches. Shane will continue to be available to support his customers through the transition.
