Debbie Stevens Retires After 43 Years in Banking

Help us congratulate Debbie Stevens on her retirement!

Debbie Stevens, a multi-talented and versatile banker, is retiring after 43 years of service in the financial industry, effective March 14, 2025.

“Debbie’s years of service to Frandsen Bank will have an everlasting impact on our team and organization,” says Bridget Algiere, Pine City retail banking manager. “Providing quality customer service wasn’t just a job; it was her passion. She treated every customer interaction as an opportunity to create lasting connections and deliver an unforgettable experience.”

Stevens has served the Pine City community since August 3, 1981. She began her career in the financial industry as a computer operator and bookkeeper. In 2006, she started a new chapter when Frandsen Bank & Trust acquired the First National Bank in Pine City.

During this transition, Debbie learned new daily operations and customer service functions and seamlessly assumed the role of personal banker. She took on additional responsibilities, assisting customers with ACH transactions, eStatements, and online banking.

Stevens has seen many changes and advancements throughout her career.

“Be open and enjoy getting to know your customers,” says Stevens when asked what advice she’d give to someone starting a career in community banking. “Learn how to be flexible; the financial industry is constantly changing, and you may find yourself in a completely different environment. Strive to be the person who does things no one else wants to do.”

Following her retirement announcement, Debbie looks forward to embracing her next chapter and spending more time with her grandkids.
