Proud to partner with the Greater Mankato Area United Way as we contribute $40,500 to support education, basic needs, and growth in our community.

Frandsen Bank & Trust, in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), is pleased to announce a $40,500 donation to the Greater Mankato Area United Way (United Way).
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to increase our support of the local United Way and make a meaningful impact in our community with help from the FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund,” says Nick Hinz, Frandsen Bank Mankato president. “Our team has seen the difference United Way makes firsthand. Several of our team members have volunteered with them and found the experience incredibly rewarding.”
The $40,500 donation will help United Way continue its work supporting low- to moderate-income community members, including scholarships for Connecting Kids and financial assistance for YMCA memberships. Connecting Kids offers programming to support childhood development through organized out-of-school activities. The YMCA strengthens the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
“We are so grateful for Frandsen Bank & Trust’s long-time support of Greater Mankato Area United Way through generous donations, volunteering, and community engagement,” says Barb Kaus, Greater Mankato Area United Way CEO. “This vital support is an investment in our region as we work together to improve lives through basic needs, health, and education.”
This increased donation was made possible through the Member Impact Fund, a grant program from FHLB Des Moines that matches up to $3 for every $1 donated by member organizations like Frandsen Bank. The program is designed to strengthen the ability of not-for-profits or government entities to support the needs of their local communities.
