$8,750 Community Investment Fuels Growth for Grant County Businesses and Residents

We're proud to present an $8,750 grant to the Grant County Development Corporation in partnership with FHLB Des Moines.

Frandsen Bank & Trust, in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines), is pleased to announce an $8,750 grant to the Grant County Development Corporation (GCDC).

This contribution underscores Frandsen Bank’s commitment to the region, shortly after opening its first branch in South Dakota.

“We wanted to make a meaningful impact for businesses and community members in our area,” said Steve Wenzl, Milbank bank president. “Having partnered with FHLB Des Moines before, we were excited to take this opportunity to support GCDC.”

GCDC will use the funds to help Grow Grant County, a community investment program that supports local residents, empowers entrepreneurs, and drives business growth.

“This investment reflects the kind of public-private partnership that drives lasting economic progress,” said Traci Stein, executive director of GCDC. “Through our Grow Grant County capital campaign, we are addressing business expansion, workforce availability, housing access, and child care capacity in a coordinated way. Support from Frandsen Bank & Trust and FHLB Des Moines reinforces the broader community growth strategy already underway and accelerates our ability to deliver measurable results.”

The $8,750 grant was made possible through the Member Impact Fund, a program from FHLB Des Moines that matches $2.50 for every $1 donated by member organizations like Frandsen Bank. Since it launched in 2023, the program has strengthened community development and affordable housing initiatives across the regions it serves.
