Rick Risberg Celebrates 46 Years in Community Banking

Frandsen Bank Hayward's prior president, Rick Risberg, is retiring from his full-time position and transitioning to a part-time banking role with Frandsen starting in January 2026.

“Rick has been a valued leader whose guidance and dedication have made a meaningful impact on our organization and customers,” said Mike Gay, Frandsen Bank chief operating officer. “On behalf of the Frandsen Bank team, I want to thank Rick for his years of service and wish him a happy retirement.”

Rick began his community banking career in January 1979 in Marion, Wis., where he was responsible for filing checks, mailing statements, and maintaining the bank’s general ledger. He moved up to the teller line and then into a lending role. Rick also clerked farm auctions.

In January 1984, Rick accepted a position as an ag loan officer in Kaukauna, Wis., and in 1998, he accepted the role of bank president in Dundas, Minn. Late in 2001, Frandsen purchased the Dundas bank, and Rick continued to serve as market president until early 2021, when he moved to the Frandsen Bank branch in Hayward. Rick served as the Hayward bank president for four years.

Rick has been a valued member of our Frandsen family, and we invite everyone to help us honor his years of hard work and dedication at a celebratory open house from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, at Frandsen Bank & Trust in Hayward.

In retirement, Rick is looking forward to traveling more with his wife and visiting their family. He is also looking forward to spending more time on the golf course and will continue volunteering in the Hayward area.
