Mike Gay

Mike Gay has been immersed in community banking since high school, when he began working at his father’s small bank in Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota. Inspired by that early experience, he earned a degree in finance and economics from St. Cloud State University and spent the first 14 years of his career in commercial banking before advancing into senior leadership as senior vice president and chief credit officer. Mike joined Frandsen Bank in 2009 as president of the Cloquet office, where his leadership helped establish the location as the top community bank in its market. In 2019, he relocated to the corporate office and was promoted to executive vice president and regional manager. In 2024, Mike was named chief operating officer and president. He remains deeply committed to ensuring Frandsen Bank & Trust continues to be the community bank of choice across its markets, keeping decisions local and supporting the success of customers, employees, and shareholders.
