Dennis Welch Honored

Posted on April 11, 2018

Frandsen Financial Corporation CEO Rich Hoban announced that Dennis Welch, Frandsen Bank & Trust’s SBA division manager, was recently named the 2018 Veteran Small Business Champion by the Minnesota District Office of the Small Business Administration.

Welch says, “I appreciate being recognized by the SBA. I’m also thankful for the dedication the SBA has shown to veteran business owners, and am delighted to be a part of their efforts.” Dennis is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, spending time in Ft. Bragg, N.C. and in Eqypt with the Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO). Welch was in Operation Urgent Fury.

After his military service, Dennis began a banking career and has 19 years of experience in working with the SBA. As a veteran, Dennis finds it important to devote time to others who have served our country. “It’s a privilege to be able to share my knowledge with veterans who are starting a new business, expanding their existing business, or just need some business advice.” Welch regularly speaks at veterans events including the Boots to Business seminar hosted by the SBA. He also spends considerable time in one on one consultations with veterans.

Rich Hoban states, “This is quite an honor for both Dennis and Frandsen Bank. In just under two years, Dennis has taken our bank from very little SBA activity to one of the top SBA producers in the state of Minnesota. It’s a testament to Dennis’s knowledge of the SBA program and his dedication to helping veterans’ businesses get the financing they need.”

Welch and the other 11 winners will be honored at the Minnesota Small Business Week Awards Luncheon on May 11, 2018, at the Doubletree by Hilton Park Place in Minneapolis, Minn.
