Frandsen Bank’s Dennis Welch Named Coleman 2022 SBA 7(a) Lender of the Year

Coleman Publishing, a leading provider of information to small business bankers across the nation, recently recognized their 2022 SBA Professional Award winners.  Frandsen Bank’s SBA division manager, Dennis Welch, was named their 2022 SBA 7(a) Lender of the Year.  Nine other lenders and six companies were recognized in other categories during a webinar earlier in February.  See a complete list of the winners here:  https://colemanreport.com/c-suite-wednesday-coleman-2022-sba-lender-professional-award-winners/

Lenders and companies were nominated by their peers during December of 2021, detailing why the nominee should be honored and how they’ve made a positive impact on SBA lending and the small business community.  The nominations were reviewed and the winners selected by Coleman’s editorial team.

Since Welch’s arrival in 2016, Frandsen Bank has consistently been a top 10 SBA lender in Minnesota.

In 2021 Dennis and the Frandsen Bank SBA team closed 67 SBA loans, including 53 7(a) loans, totaling over $56 million, while also closing an additional 2,264 PPP loans ($100 million).   In 2020 they closed 2,039 PPP loans ($223 million).

Welch brings nearly 25 years of SBA lending experience, with both 7(a) and 504 loans, to Frandsen Bank.  Dennis assists all 35 Frandsen offices with their SBA lending needs.  Welch states, “SBA lending can be confusing and misunderstood, and I pride myself on educating our bankers and their clients on the SBA’s benefits and strategies.”

Welch is a veteran of the 82^nd Airborne Division and was named the Minnesota Veteran Small Business Champion in 2018 for his work presenting to and helping veterans with their small business financing.
